I don't know where you would go to find a nicer bunch of people than the Texas Traffic Net (A.K.A. Daytime Texas Traffic Net).  This is one of the main reasons for HAM Radio.  In case of disaster, these guys are dedicated to keeping the communications open.  It is my goal to become a contributor to this Net and to display the kindness and helpfulness that drew me to join in with them.

Texas Traffic Net

As an independent net and member of the National Traffic System (NTS),  the net passes radio traffic into and out of the state of Texas via Amateur Radio.  The net can normally be heard Monday - Saturdays  from 0830 to 0930 on 7285khz and from 1830-1930  on 3873khz Central time .  In the event of an emergency event, such as tropical storms/hurricanes the net may be activated.  All amateur operators with a General Class or higher ham license are welcomed to check into the net

I just want to say how proud I am of the 7290 Traffic Net.  This Net has continually delivered traffic since 1953.  It is encouraging to see how well organized they are. I support their efforts and I am committed to joining in with the 7290 Traffic Net daily as I am able.  Please take time to visit their website and consider joining in when you have the opportunity.
